It’s not easy helping your student carve out their own place in the world, especially when that means moving into their own apartment. At Old Row at Cloverdale, we strive to make navigating this uncharted territory as transparent, simple, and smooth as possible. We are here to help and would be happy to provide you with the answers you are looking for!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are individual leases?
A lot has changed over the years and having separate leases for each room in the apartment is one of them! With individual leasing, your student will only be responsible for their lease contract and not their roommates. If a roommate moves out or pays rent late, there is no financial obligation for you!
What utilities are included?
At Old Row at Cloverdale we make it easy, as your student’s rental amount covers everything. That means power, water, sewer, garbage, gas, satellite TV service, Fiber internet, Wi-Fi, and parking are all included.
What is a guarantor?
A rent guarantor is the legal term for a person that agrees to be legally responsible for the apartment, its condition, and any financial obligations.
What if my student doesn't have a roommate already?
No sweat! We provide FREE roommate matching! No need to stress about searching the internet or flyering the local coffee shop for that potential roommate! Your student will just have to fill out a simple roommate preference form.
How do I pay rent?
There is a drop box on the property, checks can be mailed to our office or you may choose to pay via Venmo or an ACH auto draft or credit card. There is a Payment Portal on our website.
How secure is the community and my student’s apartment?
Not only do we have gates to help restrict both drive-thru and pedestrian access, we also have cameras fully monitoring each gate and all parking spots. Each room door has an individual keypad so rooms can be locked along with the overall apartment.
What do you mean by “Washer and Dryer Hook Ups Included?”
While only the washer and dryer hook-ups are provided and not the washers and dryers themselves, we have worked with outgoing groups to see if they want to sell not only their washer and dryer, but also any other items including furniture. Photos of any items left by previous residents will be emailed to the incoming group well ahead of move in and may assist in an easy transition into your student’s new space. Your student is also welcome to bring in their own washer and dryer, which they may choose to take them with them at the time of move out or sell for use by future residents.
What if my student needs to attend rush weeks before classes start?
Not to worry! Old Row at Cloverdale is one of the only properties that starts its leases on August 1 each year. In some cases, you will be allowed to even move in a few days earlier so your student can get settled in before rush starts. Just contact the office to see if we can arrange this!
What is the Lease Renewal Process?
We will send out renewal inquiries in October each year and if your student decides to renew, we will work to keep lease rates as competitive as possible as long as the renewal is signed and returned before the posted deadline. Those who renew enjoy not having to put their items in storage between lease terms or go through the move-in process all over again.
